Artist’s Statement & Bio

For over a dozen years, Gygi has been creating outstanding illustration work for publishers of all kinds including magazines, newspapers, online publishers, advertisers, marketing and design firms, book publishers.

Art directors and creative types have recognized the value of Gygi's unique and enjoyable figures and continue to hire Gygi to solve complex visual challenges while creating highly enjoyable and visually effective illustrations.

One of the reasons that Gygi's work stands out is because of his unique approach to creating illustration work.  Combining his portrait training background with his knack for creating dynamic, stylized figures, Gygi leans heavily on the traditions and techniques of the old masters while combining that technique with contemporary subjects and themes.

Simply put:  Gygi creates illustrations that are striking, beautiful, and very effective in communicating.
